Welcome to this #NeuroMovement® Lesson!

Physically, it can help if you have #back pain, #neck pain, or if you tend to keep your tension and #stress in your upper body. It will be interesting because these movements are very basic, yet hard to do slowly. Challenge yourself to go slow and not to fall in the trap of making a sport out of it. Remember, this isn't exercise!

Emotionally, I like this lesson because it takes us back to something primal, the very early movements of curling that very baby learns or knows instinctively, and which tend to cultivate safety, a sense of being held or cuddled. If you've been feeling #anxiety, this lesson is great as a way of resetting your nervous system.

Before you begin, please read these instructions carefully. Normally, a practitioner is there to guide you through these, so please do take care to ensure you are doing it right.

  1. Please go SLOW. Seriously, if you think you are going slow, go even slower. Your brain cannot learn anything new if you don't slow down. Don't do the movements automatically, you should have just enough time for two or three movements before the next set of instructions.

  2. Your comfort is paramount. Make sure you are comfortable before you start the lesson, and throughout. At any hint of pain, or discomfort, please stop. If you are feeling dizzy, stop. If you feel too emotional, stop. You can do the lesson in your imagination if it's too much for you and it will be just as impactful.

  3. Pay attention to what you are feeling and experiencing at all times. Focus on the changes, even tiny ones, and bring them to the foreground of your attention. Remember, the work is happening in your brain.

  4. Reduce your efforts. Only go so far as the movement is easy. It can be very small, almost invisible, and still be impactful. Neuromovement is not about the movement, it's the process of moving that counts.

  5. Rest as often as you want. This isn't a race. This isn't a performance. There is no right or wrong way of doing, just YOUR way of doing.

  6. Have fun! when you are comfortable, and you go slow, you can be curious, explore different ways of organizing yourself, so that the movement can become pleasurable.

What you'll need for this lesson:

- A space to lie down, rather firm. (not a bed unless you are bedridden). You can use a folded up blanket. Avoid pillows if you can. You'll need enough space to move around, so remove obstacles.

- A willingness to do as little as possible :)

After you are done, please share how this lesson has impacted you, or any other comment.
