Are you parent to a child who has been diagnosed autistic or on the autism spectrum (ASD)? Are you looking for ways to help them become better learners, navigate school and society and live up to their true potential? Are you afraid your child will be 'locked in' forever? Have you tried many therapies, such as occupational therapy, ABA, physiotherapy or medication, unsuccessfully?

Don't lose hope. NeuroMovement® may just be the missing piece to unlock your child's learning ability and propel them on to a new trajectory.

Movement Ignites Learning

Learning, as a fundamental brain function, is often impaired in children on the autism spectrum due to sensory issues, processing delays and challenges in social mediation.

Learning requires the perception of differences between one signal and another., and the ability to discern which signals require a response, and which ones are not.  If your child struggle to acquire some skills, it is because, somehow, their brain does not recognize, distinguish or process the differences required to learn that skill.  Stimming is also a sign of this ability being impaired.

In Neuromovement® gives your child's brain more opportunities to perceive increasingly complex and subtle differences.  We do this by exploring their body's own movement in a way that is non-threatening and attention-building.

Calming the nervous system

For many children on the autism spectrum, learning and social situations are sources of stress. Under these conditions, learning and skill acquisition is nearly impossible.  Children who have tics or stimming behaviours have developed these habits out of perfectly natural nervous system adaptations to an environment they perceive as stressful.

To help your child prepare for learning, NeuroMovement® first creates the ideal conditions required by the nervous system. We do this by promoting slow, attentive and connected movement, and by never forcing a child to perform a task they are not already able to do.  We do not seek to "fix" autism, or your child; we connect with them in ways that are meaningful to them. By meeting them where they are, we are able to guide them in a continuous learning process and to empower brain change.

What results does NeuroMovement® create in children with Autism?

The results are often surprising! as children become more self-aware, they are increasingly able to connect to others, acquire new skills and reach new levels of well-being. In practice this can translate in better sleep, increased eye contact, more 'tolerance' to certain stimuli (like noise or labels), the ability to play unattended. We also see improved vision and mobility, as well as communication and language!

Don't wait to schedule an intensive with your child and see them transform.
